Olinda Deli

A local institution changes hands and increases quality! Lets begin with the new owner - Lubna. You could not meet a more warm, compassionate, motherly character than Lubna - and she says this is like her home kitchen (believe it, you will). We are used to the odd random visit when we are in Olinda, but to our surprise, the new owner (over 2 months) just adds extra charm and warmth to the cafe that its highly necessary to consider dropping in on every visit to the mountain. Our big breakfasts were reasonably priced and as described - big! Our wonderful chef takes the time to cook everything to perfection - no burnt bacon or sloppy spinach here! Just look at the images, fresh produce cooked with love. The deli offers much the same as before however there's about 30% more on offer on the specials menu and in that context, Lubna likes to change options depending on interest with delicious delicacies such as lamb cutlets and bolognaise sauce with many accompaniments - all home made off course! I really enjoyed the comfort of the place as in previous times it was a rushed experience (and I'm told it's still busy on the weekends) however this time around it seems calmer and empowered with the love of a household - as the old saying goes "good things come to those who wait" even though waiting times are very short here. The Chai was exceptional and not overloaded with leaf or too sweet! Just right! The experience feels just right overall, with all menu items offered with passion and a mother's love. Lubna certainly made it clear that her heart is in the right place here at Olinda Deli. And with that, I can heartily confirm the notion that it will remain an excellent cafe for breakfast, lunch or snack for many years to come. It's a 5/5 for service, environment, food quality and experience from me. Highly recommended.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We ordered soup of the day (creamy pumpkin soup) & the fettuccine carbonara, both of which were amazing. We will definitely come back here again and would 10000% recommend this to anyone else

Such amazing food! Their mountain melts are so delicious, unique and packed with so much flavour. The owners are so sweet and kind to everyone creating a very welcoming environment for everyone. Would recommend this place to everyone!

Delicious food and great coffee every time. Friendly staff. The new owners have really put their stamp on this cafe. It's my go-to meeting place with other local mums when the kids are at school, or for a quick snack after school with the kids.

We were looking for a place to have coffee after visiting the Dandenong Botanical Gardens in the late afternoon. Most cafes were closed or closing and we were lucky to find Olinda Deli opened till 5pm. We just wanted coffee but the deli options in the display cabinet looks so yummy! Wished we had our lunch here. In the end, we chose a savoury muffin to go with the coffee. Savoury muffins are hard to come by and it was fluffy and bursting with flavors of sundried tomatoes, spices and spinach. Coffee was great too! Makes my visit to Dandenong complete with happy memories! I will remember this yummy muffin from Olinda Deli for life!

Needed a quick bite after walking around Dandenong. Hands down the best melt sandwich I’ve had, ingredients were fresh and sourdough was crispy toasted. Locals drop by to buy food as well so you know it’s good. 200% would come back if I am in the area again.

Wow!! A little gem in the middle of “no-where”. It was Monday, cold and raining. We stopped off looking for a bite to eat. Just about everything was closed. Stumbled across the Olinda Deli. Very Cosy inside. Clean and presentable. BUT THE FOOD…. WOW WOW WOW!! Asked for the vegetable melt and requested they put salami on. IT WAS DELICIOUS BEYOND …. My son had Cubana Mountain Melt - also amazing. Coffee was good … not my favourite bean … but a good coffee. Highly recommended. And value for money. We will be back for sure.

Simply outstanding. Accommodating and friendly staff are the icing on the cake for this cosy establishment. The quality of product in this delicatessen is impossible to resist, and the pride this place takes is clear in everything you find on the menu. "Caveman breakfast" was delicious, and the duck & pistachio terrine I picked up on the way out made dinner tonight magical.
